Best dancing scenes in historical dramas

It seems you enjoyed my last list of the most aesthetically pleasing period films. This one is different because it is about the best dancing scenes and it contains both films and TV shows. So here are some of my  favourite dancing moments (sorted in no particular order):

Anne with an E (2017)

The dancing scene in the third season may not be one of the most memorable scenes out there, but did I like it? Yes, very much and seeing the slow-motion moment, with small but meaningful touches, makes me add this to the list.

Cinderella (2015)

I was shocked to find out that many people don't consider this a period film. I loved it so much the first time I watched it and I've always loved the ball scene. It's so great that you will find this scene ranked up on a list almost everywhere. The costumes, the little gasp when Kit puts his hand on Ella's waist and the overall aesthetic of the movie make it extremely lovely.

Anna Karenina (2012)

I recently rewatched this film and man I realised that I should have put this on the previous list because the cinematography is exquisite. But the waltzing scene is top-tier. Just look at the choreography and you will notice that Kitty's partners change almost ten times. This shows how much time Anna and Alexei danced together without swapping partners. And whilst this is a VERY, VERY, VERY romanticised adaptation of Tolstoy's novel, I still put it here, but with some hesitation.

The Sound of Music (1965)

The Sound of Music is my favourite musical. I have watched it almost 5 times already and every time I can't help but smile and sing. I loved it as a kid and I still do. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer were brilliant (rest in peace). The waltzing scene is no comment.

Victoria (2016):

Victoria just had to be on the list. It may not be the most historically accurate series, but definitely my favourite one of all time. Probably one of the most romantic scenes in the entire show is the first dance. Of course, there are more lovely scenes cause it's a romantic period drama after all, but the first one just has something specific to it.

Pride & Prejudice (2005)

Is there anything bad about this film? Is there anything more to say about the dance scene other than perfection, of course? The tension is so thick and the looks on their faces and the eye contact AHHH MAN I'M IN LOVE. This scene is also one of the many more which make this film the GOAT.

    Bridgeton (2020)

Some may argue and say that the first dancing scene between Simon and Daphne isn't the best and it's supposed to be the one from season 2 between Anthony and Kate. I liked both dances but to be honest the one from season 1 is definitely superior. There is much more chemistry between the characters.
