(Q&A) What makes the 2005 Pride & Prejudice so good?
After my new post about the aesthetic of some period films, I got a ton of comments asking me why I like the 2005 Pride and Prejudice film so much. Also, some comments asked me if I prefer BBC's 1995 version.
To make it simple, I will answer the second question first. Do I prefer the 2005 version over the 1995 version? And the answer is sorta yes. But simply because I've watched it more times than I did with the BBC one, which I also like because it is more accurate when it comes to the OG book.
BBC on Giphy
Although I like the newer P&P more, I really had a hard time deciding between Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen as the perfect Mr Darcy. This might disappoint some of you, but I like Colin Firth A TINY BIT more. Idk I guess it's because I watched the 1995 version first and I got used to him more.
[BTW if you want to leave me so more questions, you can do it on my dead editing Instagram. It is inactive, but I still answer to questions]
Ok but here's the big question. What truly makes Pride & Prejudice 2005 so good? I got 7 reasons why.
- The overall aesthetic and cinematography
- The soundtrack
- The cast and their performances
- The chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy
- Elizabeth's feminist portrayal
- Even though the costumes are not so historically accurate, they are still very beautiful made
- The HAND FLEX
